Belt Rank Promotions & Certifications
The PANCRASE PROMOTIONS COMMITTEE awards belt rank degrees to qualified practitioners of Pancrase Mixed Martial Arts. Each recipient has demonstrated a high proficiency in various martial arts including Wrestling, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, Sambo, and
Kick Boxing. Furthermore, all recipients have demonstrated an ability to combine these techniques into an effective fighting style.
Belt Rank Degrees are awarded in four major skill levels
White Belt: Beginner level (1st through 4th degree).
Blue Belt: Intermediate level (1st through 4th degree).
Purple Belt: Advanced Intermediate level (1st through 4th degree).
Brown Belt: Advanced level (1st through 4th degree).
Black Belt: Expert, Instructor, Professor, Master, and Grand Master levels (1st through 10th degree).
*Average time to achieve rank with consistent training
White Belt: 1 year to achieve 4th stripe ranking
Blue Belt: 1 to 2 years
Purple Belt: 3 to 5 years
Brown Belt: 6 to 8 years
Black Belt: 8 to 10 years
Certifications are awarded in four categories
Fighter: Recipient has competed in mixed martial arts, jiu-jitsu or grappling competitions.
Self Defense: Personal protection, police and military applications.
Technical: Instructor, Coach, Trainer, Cornerman, Referee, or Judge.
Honorary: Recipient has made extraordinary contributions to the advancement of Pancrase Martial Arts.
